She awoke to the sound of birds singing. They twitered and chirruped merilly in the cool clean morening air. She stretched, tensing her muscles to their full potential then releasing them grualy, getting the blood flowing again. She opened her stinging eyes and let the daylight stream in.
She was alone. Bemused from her tiredness she stood up slowly. Then it all came back to her. Her brother's death, the person responsible. His kiss. His warm, moist lips on hers. The recolection of these memories swarmed her mind like andgy wasps. She was confused, unsure. Why did she do that. What possesed her to fall in love with the person respon

Three days after his accident and her brother was said to be “Stable”. He hadn’t woken up since the last time. Emily had lived through the past few days with baited breath. Jumping whenever the phone rang, rushing to answer in case it was news on her brother. She was on tenterhooks, waiting, just waiting.
It was quiet in the library. She sat, wasting the minutes away by reading a book. Although her eyes were fixed on the same spot on the page and she hadn’t changed the page at all.
